Presidents and Congress can steer change. With U.S. leadership and global cooperation, we have it in our power to end today’s pandemics. We can prevent future pandemics. While COVID-19 threatens to claim millions of lives, absent bold action it will undermine efforts against AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria—infectious diseases that claim over 3 million lives each year.
A vision for America’s leadership against deadly global diseases can address some of the structural drivers that make communities more vulnerable to pandemics. It will make the world safer, more prosperous, and more just. This virtual event addressed what the next President and Congress can do to build a Foreign Policy Capable of Ending & Preventing Pandemics.
