Washington, DC – On the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Foreign Policy for America reiterates its support for the Ukrainian people, who have demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of Vladimir Putin’s horrific aggression, and condemns President Trump’s attempts to strongarm Ukraine into appeasement.
“From siding with the likes of North Korea and Belarus in opposing a U.N. resolution condemning Russia’s aggression to parroting outrageous Kremlin talking points about President Zelenskyy, President Trump has reached news lows in his capitulation to Putin,” said Brian Volsky, Policy Director for Foreign Policy for America. “President Trump’s outrageous statements and actions will only embolden Putin and invite further Russian aggression.”
Foreign Policy for America supports efforts to achieve a negotiated, just, and durable end to Russia’s illegal war against Ukraine. We urge the Trump administration to recognize the importance of Ukraine’s direct involvement in any discussions about its future. We also call for renewed collaboration with our European allies in strengthening Ukraine’s security and supporting its reconstruction.
