Kathleen Doherty served as the U.S. Ambassador to Cyprus from 2015-2019. Prior to this, she served in leadership positions in Washington DC, and at the U.S. embassies in Rome, London, and Moscow. Earlier in her three-decade career with the State Department, she served in Brazil and the Dominican Republic. Ambassador Doherty is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a member of the board of directors of the American Academy of Diplomacy, a member of the board of directors of the Women’s Foreign Policy Group, and a diplomatic advisory committee member of the Meridian International Center.
