David Wade advises leading global universities, corporations and organizations, teaches foreign policy at Yale University’s Jackson School for Global Affairs, and is a Fellow with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He spent two decades at the highest levels of the State Department, on Capitol Hill, and on two national presidential campaigns. Mr. Wade was the Chief of Staff to the US Department of State. Foreign Policy described Wade as “the driving force behind the Department’s day to day operations.” He was awarded the State Department’s Distinguished Honor Award. For five years, Mr. Wade was Chief of Staff to the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Wade was the National Press Secretary for John Kerry for President in 2004 and worked for Obama for America as the national spokesperson and traveling communications chief for vice presidential nominee then-Senator Biden. Mr. Wade’s opinion columns have been published in The Atlantic, Reuters, Foreign Policy, The Boston Globe, and Politico.
