Jane Rhee

Jane Rhee is currently an Advisor with the Special Competitive Studies Project. She previously served as the Chief of Staff of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation from 2023 to 2025. During that time, Jane provided strategic counsel to the Chief Executive Officer and led initiatives that enabled the growth of DFC’s investment portfolio from $36 billion to $50 billion.

From 2021 to 2023, Jane served as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of International Organization Affairs. Prior to that appointment, she served as Vice President for Global Public Affairs with The Estée Lauder Companies and as a Foreign Service Officer with the Department of State. Her positions as a U.S. diplomat included tours in Washington, DC; Kabul, Afghanistan; and Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She also served as Director for Strategic Planning and Director for Iranian Affairs at the National Security Council. Jane joined the Department after receiving the Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship. She has a Master’s in Public Affairs from the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University and a Bachelor’s in Government from Harvard College.
